Survey Sees Trend in Judaism Clashes

Share

A survey dealing with relations among the different branches of Judaism finds that Orthodox rabbis are most likely to blame Reform Judaism for Jewish clashes, and Reform rabbis are most likely to blame the Orthodox.

Conservative Judaism, however, was not likely to be blamed. Queens College sociologist Samuel Heilman, who conducted the survey for the American Jewish Committee, said: “Obviously, one of the benefits for Conservative Jews of being in an intermediate position is that none of the other groups hold them most to blame for religious rifts.”
