3 Gang Members Arrested in Shootings
From a Times Staff Writer
SANTA ANA —
Around-the-clock police investigation resulted in the arrest of three gang members for the “senseless” shooting of a man and his wife at an outdoor birthday party in Santa Ana Feb. 3, officials announced.
Officers said the man was killed and his wife critically wounded by four roving F Troop gang members who mistakenly assumed the couple were from a rival gang. Joel and Sylvia Davalos, both 21, and teacher’s aides, were hit by 30 shots from weapons that included an military-style AK-47 assault rifle, police said.
