JAM/LEWIS II: The Jackson deal is a perfect 10th-anniversary present for Jam and Lewis’ Flyte Tyme Productions, one of the top R&B; factories of recent years. In celebration, the duo, who first came to fame as members of the group the Time, will host special concerts later this year in their hometown Minneapolis, as well as Los Angeles and New York. Details will be announced at a later date.

Meanwhile, Jam and Lewis’ year-old Perspective Records--a joint venture with A&M--is; on a roll, with R&B; hits from the gospel-based Sounds of Blackness and the young group Mint Condition, whose song “Break My Heart” is crossing over from R&B; to the pop charts.

Both acts will also be featured in June on the Perspective soundtrack album to the new Damon Wayans film “Mo’ Money.” Also set for the collection are tracks by Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant, with several other big-name artists in negotiation.
