Harris Leads Cal State Long Beach to 73-61 Victory Over Fresno State
Lucious Harris scored 23 points to lead Cal State Long Beach to a 73-61 victory over Fresno State in a Big West Conference game Monday night.
The 49ers improved to 13-9 overall and 7-6 in conference. The Bulldogs (14-10, 5-8) lost their fourth game in a row.
Harris scored 12 points in the first half as Long Beach took a 33-20 halftime lead despite shooting just 40.7% from the field. The 49ers went on a 23-7 run over the final nine minutes of the half, with Harris scoring 10 points.
Fresno State, led by Carl Ray Harris with 21 points, cut Long Beach’s lead to 48-44 with eight minutes left in the game.
Long Beach pulled away again with a 12-3 run over the next two minutes and Fresno State never got closer than nine points the rest of the game. Long Beach made 24 of 33 free throws in the second half.
Wil Hooker scored 13 points and Devon Satterwhite scored 12 points, all in the second half, for the Bulldogs.
Chris Tower scored 13 points for Long Beach and Bryon Russell added 12.
