Joe Garagiola is going to have a new role on “Today” starting Monday. Weary of commuting weekly from his home in Arizona to New York, he has asked out of the co-anchor role and will become a correspondent-at-large. . . . Walter C. Miller was announced Thursday as the executive producer-director of this year’s Prime-Time Emmy Awards, set for Aug. 30.
