Everlasting Star Outlasts Rivals for a $33.20 Victory at Aqueduct

NEW YORK — Everlasting Star, the longest shot in the field of seven fillies and mares, battled back after surrendering the lead and won the Tambrett purse at Aqueduct by a neck on Friday.
The winner, carrying 117 pounds, was ridden by Jorge Velasquez.
Necker Isle Queen, ridden by Chris Antley, finished second and Cozzinia third.
Everlasting Star covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:48 and paid $33.20, $11.60 and $4.40. Necker Isle Queen paid $3.80 and $2.40 and Cozzinia was $3.20 to show.
