The Region : New Car-Pool Lanes on 210

Share

Construction has begun on the installation of high-occupancy vehicle lanes on both sides of the Foothill Freeway (210) along an 18.7-mile stretch between Glendora and Pasadena.

The $7.3-million project, aimed at improving traffic flow, is part of the state Department of Transportation’s program to add high-occupancy lanes throughout Los Angeles County.

Transportation officials say the lanes carry about 2 1/2 times the number of passengers as regular lanes.

The work, by Chumo Construction Inc. of Baldwin Park, started the second week of January and is expected to be completed by early 1993.
