ORANGE : Five Suffer Minor Injuries in Collision

Share

A two-car collision on Wednesday afternoon sent one car careening out of control and into the rear of a parked police car, resulting in minor injuries to five people, police said. Police said the five injured people, including two children, were treated at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange for bruises on their heads, legs and arms.

Police Sgt. Paul Gibbs said Nancy Lee Ivary, 28, of Santa Ana was making a left turn onto La Veta Avenue from Glassell Street when she collided with a car driven by Gloria Manzo, 55, of Anaheim. Manzo’s car then spun out of control and hit a police car parked near the corner, Gibbs said.

The police car received only minor damage to a bumper and the two officers inside were not injured, Gibbs said.

Riding in Manzo’s car were her two children, Johnny, 8, and Gloria, 3, and Margarita Savannah, 55, police said. All were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries after the 12:39 p.m. collision, police said.

Police did not issue any citations, and the collision is under investigation, Gibbs said.
