The Santa Paula Elementary School District may have to cut up to $450,000 from its 1992-93 budget, Supt. David G. Philips told the board Thursday.
The school district, which has proposed a $13.4-million budget for the 1992-93 school year, expects to lose $80,797 in state funds because a large number of students whose parents are migrant farm workers have left the area, Philips said.
In addition to the loss of revenue, the district will have to pay $376,554 in new expenditures, of which $253,924 will go toward loan payments, $111,000 for employee retirement benefits and the balance for salary increases, he said.
Philips did not say where the cuts might be made.
