London Bomb Blast Injures 1; IRA Suspected

LONDON — A bomb blast Saturday near a downtown office of the national prosecutor’s headquarters slightly injured a woman, police said. The explosion came a day after 28 people were hurt at a busy railway station.
A policewoman at the scene said authorities were warned and were searching for the bomb when it went off. A large part of the area was evacuated.
No one immediately claimed responsibility, but suspicion fell on the outlawed Irish Republican Army, which has been waging a sporadic bombing campaign since December. The group claimed responsibility for Friday’s explosion and warned of more violence.
In a statement Saturday, the IRA said that as long as the British rule Northern Ireland, “within their own national territory they will live with the reality of their Irish war.”
