Man Dies After Suffering Burns, Heart Attack in Fire
A man died Sunday night in a fire at a two-story house in Carson, officials said.
The man, who was not identified pending notification of his relatives, suffered third-degree burns over 80% of his body and also had a heart attack during the blaze in a single-family house in the 19500 block of Fariman Drive, said Tim Dixon, a dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The man, who was in his 30s, was the sole occupant of the house, Dixon said. He was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:38 p.m., Dixon said.
The fire burned two rooms in the house and was extinguished in about 15 minutes, he said. The cause is being investigated.
