Tops in Country: Clint Black, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson lead the field of nominees in the 27th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Those three are joined by Reba McEntire and Randy Travis in the entertainer of the year category, and by Vince Gill and Doug Stone in the male vocalist competition. Candidates for female vocalist: Mary-Chapin Carpenter, McEntire, Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis and Tanya Tucker. The awards will be presented on an NBC telecast from the Universal Amphitheatre on April 29. The nominees were announced Monday.
