Their top two hitters--Shawn Green, a first-round draft pick who signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, and Ben Munoz, who is starting for Orange Coast College--have gone on to higher levels, but the Tillers still should be a force. Brown says Baker, who started in Tustin’s four playoff games after being called up from the junior varsity last season, will be among the county’s best hitters by the time he is a senior. “He’s going to be one of the guys a lot of teams aren’t going to want to pitch to,” Brown said. “With one swing he can shut things down.” One of the more playoff-seasoned teams, the Tillers have advanced to the semifinals in each of the past three seasons and have a 10-3 playoff record during that span. “I think that gives us a little bit of an advantage going into the playoffs,” Brown said. “At least I try to convince our kids that it gives us an advantage.”
