A Van Nuys gang member was charged Tuesday with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of recklessly discharging a firearm in connection with the shooting Friday of two students at Robert Fulton Junior High School, Los Angeles police said.
John Noguera, who surrendered to police Sunday, was arraigned in Van Nuys Municipal Court, Detective Greg Demirjian said.
Noguera, 18, was charged with shooting the two 15-year-olds in the legs during a confrontation between rival gangs as school began Friday, Demirjian said. The students suffered minor injuries after five or six shots were fired at them, he said.
