Loan Guarantees for Israel

President Bush’s handling of the Israeli loan guarantee issue (linking it to a halt in West Bank settlement construction) shows an astonishing amount of insensitivity and poor judgment. His candidacy already in a much weakened state, he is giving the Democrats yet another round of ammunition in the fight for the White House, as if they needed one.
