Pet Cougar on Leash Bites Louisiana Child
Associated Press
SHREVEPORT, La. —
A woman’s pet cougar lunged at two girls in a parking lot, biting one before a bystander pushed the cat away.
The owner drove off with the cougar in a pickup truck after the incident, leaving the parents of the injured 7-year-old wondering if the cat is free of rabies.
One bite broke the skin on the child’s chest, but the wound did not appear to be serious. The cougar was on a long leash at the time.
