According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Southern California is noteworthy for more than just the world’s longest DMV lines:
* ohn Moschitta holds the record as the fastest talker, having recited 586 words a minute in Los Angeles on May 24, 1988.
* The drunkest patient is a 24-year-old woman who checked herself into the UCLA Medical Center with a blood alcohol level of 1.5 (.40 is usually fatal).
* The most prolific grapevine was planted in Carpinteria in 1842; by 1900, it produced an average of 7.7 tons of grapes a year.
* The largest bicycle, built by Dave Morre of Rosemead in 1989, stands 11 feet, 2 inches high.
