Not lingerie in the Madonna-like sense of wearing underwear in public, but lingerie as the inspiration for soft, feminine clothes for day and evening. “It’s always fun when you see lingerie in a subtle way,” says California designer Harriet Selwyn. “Lingerie says, ‘I’m a lady.’ ”
