Rape and Abortion
A Commentary piece on coerced motherhood around the globe was “balanced” with a piece about one woman’s delight in the daughter fathered on her by a rapist. That’s like undermining a piece on the need for airline safety with the tale of someone who fell out of an airborne plane and was glad to live to tell about it.
The implication that they are simply opposing points of view with equal merit degrades the concept of journalistic fairness.
