VAN NUYS : Airport Bus Service Ridership Up in ’91
- Share via
The number of passengers using the FlyAway bus service between Van Nuys and Los Angeles International airports increased by 11% in 1991, according to year-end calculations by the Los Angeles Department of Airports.
A total of 676,062 passengers rode on 36,379 bus trips in 1991. Airport officials expect the city-run bus service later this year to carry its 10 millionth passenger since the service started in 1975.
Airport officials attribute the increase partly to a 25% fare reduction made in December, 1990. The fares are $3.50 one-way or $6 round-trip for adults; children ages 2 to 12 are $1.75 each way. Children under 2 years ride free. Passengers can park their cars or be dropped off at the FlyAway bus terminal at Woodley Avenue and Saticoy Street next to Van Nuys Airport.
