What’s So Fantastic About ‘Spasms’?
Your article “The Fantastic Voyage of Tanner Roberts” (March 1) certainly doesn’t portray the birth process as fantastic, but rather as frightening, with the emphasis on words such as ordeal and spasms.
The labor process does not have to be as painful or frightening for parents as the article outlines.
As a childbirth educator, I work in the South Bay to encourage women to give birth without fear or drugs. Educating yourself is the key. (I gave birth to) my own two children drug-free, so I know it’s quite possible.
