Two Orange County men were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday after a state trooper stopped their van for a routine traffic violation and found more than 100 pounds of marijuana, authorities said.

Kevin P. Flood, 34, of Westminster and Richard Lopez, 34, of Capistrano Beach were arrested on suspicion of felony drug trafficking Tuesday, Missouri Highway Patrol Cpl. John Walker said. They were both being held in Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $175,000, authorities said.

A trooper stopped their van on Interstate 44, a pipeline for drugs from California and the Southwest to the East Coast, Walker said. The van was pulled over for following another vehicle too closely.

A search of the van turned up 109 pounds of marijuana, the Highway Patrol said.

The estimated street value is about $2,000 per pound, a Westminster police drug officer said.
