Eddie Hill, 56, became the oldest top fuel champion in NHRA history by winning the final at the Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.
The previous oldest driver was Don Garlits, who was 55 when he won the 1987 Winternationals.
John Force, the two-time defending overall funny car champion, earned his first 1992 victory and Warren Johnson won the pro stock title.
