Police Will Get Tapes: ABC News President Roone Arledge said Wednesday the network would comply with an order from Britain’s High Court to hand over to British police all material relating to ABC’s interviews with two Libyan suspects in the Lockerbie bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. The network decided not to appeal because the order does not require ABC News to reveal confidential sources. Both interviews will also be made available to news organizations, Arledge said. London-based ABC News Correspondent Pierre Salinger, who interviewed the two suspects, said he was disappointed by the court order. ABC broadcast only a minute and a half of the two 40-minute videotapes, and the network does not normally give police any film footage not shown to the public, Salinger said.
