RESEDA : Sailor Sentenced in Stabbing Death
A sailor convicted of stabbing to death a Reseda apartment manager was sentenced Wednesday in Van Nuys Superior Court to 16 years to life in prison.
U.S. Navy Seaman Keith Allen Parker, 26, was convicted earlier this month of second-degree murder for killing Rick Migneault, 44, on June 9, 1991, in the apartment building’s parking lot. Migneault was stabbed to death after he confronted Parker and two other men about why they were in the parking lot, according to police. The other two men have not been found.
Parker, who was on active duty at the Long Beach Naval Base at the time of the incident, admitted in court that he stabbed Migneault but maintained that he acted in self-defense after Migneault hit him in the face.
