NIT ROUNDUP : Notre Dame, Florida Reach Semifinals
LaPhonso Ellis scored 25 points and Daimon Sweet made six three-point baskets as Notre Dame beat Manhattan, 74-58, Wednesday night in the NIT quarterfinals at South Bend, Ind.
Sweet, who had 22 points, made three three-pointers during an 11-2 first-half run that gave Notre Dame (17-14) the lead for good.
Keith Bullock scored 16 points for Manhattan (25-9).
Florida 74, Purdue 67--Reserve Brian Hogan, playing in his home state, matched his career high with 18 points as the Gators defeated the Boilermakers at Indianapolis.
Florida (19-12) led, 39-35, at halftime and scored the first six points of the second half to pull away.
Woody Austin scored 25 points for Purdue (18-15).
