Orange County public television station KOCE Channel 50 broke records with a pledge drive that ended Monday. The station, based in Huntington Beach, received $182,157 in pledges from 2,845 viewers, up from $176,446 last year and $136,257 in March, 1990. The station’s goal had been to match last year’s total.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles public television station KCET Channel 28 ended its pledge drive Monday night apparently ahead of its goal but behind last year’s take of $1.9 million. A spokeswoman said KCET was still counting up the tally, but it appeared that the station was “a smidgen ahead” of its goal of $1.6 million. The station received pledges from 28,000 supporters.
