LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Tax-Cut Advocate Loses Bid to Put Nickname on Ballot

A Glendale tax-reduction advocate on Friday lost his bid to have the nickname “Tax Freeze” on the June primary ballot in his race against Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich.

Craig (Tax Freeze) Freis cannot use a nickname that is “clearly an attempt to advocate a political position,” Superior Court Judge Stephen E. O’Neil said in a ruling. Freis filed suit after the registrar called the nickname unacceptable.
