Dog, Owner Reunited After 3 Years
Lucas the hound lived an independent life in Canada for 3 1/2 years. He ate well enough and fared even better with the females.
No more, though.
On Thursday, the black-and-tan dog was reunited with his master, Earl Cash at the Greenville-Spartanburg airport, where he received a hero’s welcome. Children wore signs welcoming the dog while television cameras and microphones were thrust in his snout.
“You rascal you,” said Cash, attaching a yellow ribbon to his long-lost hunting buddy’s collar. “Welcome home.”
Lucas’ return ended a tale that began in the fall of 1988 when Cash took the dog bear hunting in Canada and it disappeared.
