Goleta-based Applied Magnetics Corp. has named Richard D. Balanson executive vice president and president of the thin-film disk head division, a new position reporting to William R. Anderson, president and chief executive.
Balanson was previously with IBM, where he most recently served as division director of file development and manufacturing.
