SAN FERNANDO : Boy Critically Hurt in Drive-By Attack
A 15-year-old Sylmar boy was struck in the head and critically wounded in a drive-by shooting that also slightly wounded a companion, San Fernando Police said Monday.
The teen-ager, whose name was not released, underwent surgery at Holy Cross Medical Center and was expected to live, Detective Robert Ordelheide said.
A bullet grazed the arm of his 20-year-old companion, Dora Delamore of Sun Valley, who was treated at the scene.
The pair were walking in the 300 block of Hagar Street in San Fernando on Sunday when they were shot at by four people in a passing car, Ordelheide said. The teen-ager was hit in the left temple.
Ordelheide said the shooting appeared to be gang-related partly because the teen-ager associated with gang members.
