He will oversee all public relations, corporate communications and publicity functions for the Culver City-based film and TV studio. In his new position he will also become involved in legislative and regulatory activities on behalf of the company.

DeMesquita had been senior vice president of corporate communications and publicity in the television division of Sony Pictures.
