SANTA CLARITA : Noontime Concerts to Begin Thursday

Share

The city of Santa Clarita will hold its first series of free noontime concerts in parking lots of local shopping centers and businesses beginning Thursday.

The six concerts, ranging from country-Western to jazz to baroque music, cost $11,600 to stage, one-fourth of which was donated by local businesses and colleges, said Gail Foy, the city’s spokeswoman. The city funded the rest, partly through proceeds from its arts and crafts fairs, she said.

Seating will be provided for 200, and space is available for concert-goers to set up their own lawn chairs.
