Countywide : Hit-and-Run Victim in Critical Condition
A 19-year-old Oxnard man remained in critical condition Saturday after a hit-and-run driver struck the car in which he was riding, authorities said.
Bruce Harris suffered major head injuries in the crash late Friday and was in the intensive care unit of Ventura County Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The driver of Harris’ car, described by police only as a 19-year-old Oxnard resident, was treated for minor injuries and released, the hospital spokeswoman said.
The accident occurred at 11:40 p.m. Friday at Rice Avenue and Colonia Road in Oxnard, police said.
The driver of a Ford Bronco ran a stoplight and broadsided Harris’ vehicle, police said.
The driver then got into a third vehicle--described as a red pickup--being driven by someone else and fled, police said.
