Fight at Club Leads to Arrest of Rap Singer
A rap singer who recently appeared in the movie “Juice” was one of five people arrested outside a West Hollywood club early Saturday and jailed after a fight broke out on the dance floor, authorities said.
Tupac Shakur, 20, a solo artist who also appears with the hip-hop dance group Digital Underground, and two other men and two women were arrested on suspicion of challenging to fight, said Sheriff’s Lt. Lee Jordan. The two women were held on suspicion of being drunk in public, and one of the men was held on suspicion of possessing a small quantity of marijuana, Jordan said.
Police said the five apparently were dancing together at Carlos ‘n Charlie’s at 8240 Sunset Blvd. when an argument ensued.
At least one of the women suffered minor injuries when punches were thrown, but she declined medical treatment, Jordan said.
All were released on bail Saturday evening.
