THOUSAND OAKS : Agencies to Discuss Building Issues
The Thousand Oaks City Council and the Planning Commission will hold a joint meeting Tuesday in a workshop to discuss the city’s general policies on hillside grading, air quality, wetlands and water.
The meeting is an attempt to discuss questions from both panels on a range of issues that affect building in the city. Hillside grading, for example, is restricted on a natural slope greater than 25% without a special permit from the commission or the council.
Councilman Frank Schillo said he has suggested that, since economic development is a priority of the City Council, planning commissioners should also be aware of the financial impact of a project.
Schillo has also requested that two planning commissioners be added to a subcommittee consisting of two council members that advises the council on affordable housing.
The agencies will meet at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 2150 W. Hillcrest Drive.
