Motorcyclist Dies in Encanto Crash
A San Diego motorcyclist died in an accident while riding just a few blocks from his home Saturday night, police said.
Jeffrey Berhard Byrd, a 32-year-old inspector at Rohr Industries, lost control of his motorcycle while riding in the 5900 block of Chaumont Drive in Encanto at 11 p.m. Saturday, police said. His motorcycle struck a curb and he was thrown to the ground.
Byrd, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, the medical examiner’s office said.
