LOS ANGELES : 2 Men Arrested in Fatal Shooting of 18-Month-Old
Two gang members have been arrested on suspicion of murdering an 18-month-old girl who was fatally wounded by gunfire apparently aimed at her father, Los Angeles police said Monday.
Los Angeles Police Detective William Baird said James Taylor, 22, and Everett Butler, 19, were arrested Saturday night at the California Medical Center, where one of them had undergone treatment for a seizure. Anonymous tips helped lead to the identification of the two men, Baird said.
Sabrina Haley was fatally wounded by gunshots from another car as she sat beside her father, Michael Haley, a known associate of gang members, at 48th Street and Avalon Boulevard on April 1. Haley, 19, was not injured. He was unable to identify the suspects but was “completely cooperative” in the investigation despite his gang associations, police said.
