El Toro scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the 10th inning to post a 1-0 victory over Laguna Hills in the quarterfinals of the Woodbridge softball tournament Monday at Harvard Park.

After two scoreless extra innings, the game went to the international tiebreaker rule, which gives each team a runner on second base to start the inning.

El Toro’s Kelli Bruce sacrificed Jamie Smith to third. Then Jennifer Claridge hit a hard ground ball to second base, where Christy Journell misplayed it, allowing Smith to score the winning run for the Chargers (11-6-1).
