ANAHEIM : Stabbing Victim Dies After Fall Off Stairs
An unidentified man who was stabbed numerous times early Friday climbed the stairs of a nearby apartment complex but died after falling over a railing and down through a window, police said.
The man, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, was found hunched over the window sill, “half in and half out,” said Sgt. Chet Barry.
He had been stabbed several times in the alley behind the apartment complex at 819 S. Dakota St., Barry said.
The man walked to the front of the apartment complex and up one flight of outside stairs, Barry said. He fell backward, smashing through a window below.
The apartment residents, thinking someone was trying to break in, notified police, who found the body at 2:25 a.m., Barry said.
Other apartment residents told police that the man did not live in the building and that they could not identify him.
“No motive, no suspects,” Barry said. “What led up to this, we don’t know.”
