Pasadena : Concert to Aid Sick Student

Share

Students at Pasadena High School are sponsoring a benefit rock concert from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday, April 24, to raise money for classmate Tisha Pasos, who is undergoing treatment for lung cancer and a brain tumor.

Doug Gould, a social science teacher, said Pasos, a 16-year-old honors student, was forced to withdraw from school because of illness in October.

To help the family with medical costs and other expenses, students have raised $5,000 so far through a carwash, walkathon and other events, he said, but more money is needed.

The Sgt. Pepper’s Club, a group of student rock music enthusiasts, has recruited four local bands, Caustic Monkey, Winter Kills, Ahbazoo and Crown City, to play at the concert in the school’s Edwards Auditorium.

Admission is $5.
