Movers & Shakers: Wednesday night’s earthquake sent area residents scrambling for their television sets, even though all most stations provide in those first few minutes is a confirmation that “yes, we felt it too.” Total sets in use in the Los Angeles area jumped by 400,000 immediately following the temblor. At 10 p.m., 3.4 million of the area’s 4.8 millions households were tuned to one of the seven VHF stations, which all were broadcasting news of the quake.
