Stanley Styne, 61; Lyricist, Film Publicist

Stanley Styne, a song lyricist who collaborated with such composers as his father, Jule, Neal Hefti and Nelson Riddle died Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at age 61. A spokesman for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers said he apparently died of heart failure.

Styne, a USC graduate, also was a film publicist and stage manager. His songs include “A Beautiful Friendship,” “Cute,” “Gidget Goes Hawaiian,” and “All the Way Home.” His films include “Pal Joey,” “Four for Texas,” “They Came to Cordura” and others.

Besides his father, he is survived by a son, three daughters, two brothers and a sister.
