Four Los Angeles County men are scheduled to be arraigned today in Ventura County Superior Court on charges of selling cocaine and possessing the drug for sale.
The Ventura County Grand Jury on Wednesday indicted Pedro I. Aguilar, 41, Luis F. Monforte, 22, Lucio F. Argueto, 46, and Pedro S. M. Tomacino, 51, Deputy District Atty. Nancy Ayers said Thursday.
The four men were being held Thursday at Ventura County Jail, with bail set at $100,000 each. They cannot, however, get out on bail because they are being held as illegal aliens, a jail spokesman said.
In the first of two sales to an undercover Ventura County sheriff’s deputy, Aguilar and Monforte sold one ounce of cocaine, worth $600 wholesale, in the Hyatt Westlake Plaza parking lot on Jan. 30, Ayers said.
All four men were involved in the second sale of 1.1 pounds, worth $9,000 wholesale, to the deputy in a shopping mall parking lot in Canoga Park, she said.
Negotiations for the two sales occurred in Ventura County, she said.
