Bettors Have Always Come Through in Pinch

Regarding Hollywood Park President Don Robbins’ remarks in your sports section of April 28:
The people who are so appalling to him, the ones he wants to pinch to see if they are alive, are the ones who have been supporting horse racing in California for many years.
I wonder if some of these appalling people will be hobbling through the gates on Friday nights and then be able to wake, I mean pinch, themselves awake on Saturday mornings to pay their way in and bet with the money they worked long and hard for.
