Two men who were shot and killed at a Mexican restaurant were identified Wednesday as Anaheim residents who shared an apartment and worked together at a carwash in Garden Grove.

Abel Mancilla, 21, was found bleeding in front of Tacos Mi Pueblo on Katella Avenue at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, police Sgt. Chet Barry said. He died shortly after being taken to Western Medical Center-Anaheim.

Crispin Corona Contreras, 37, believed to be Mancilla’s cousin, was found dead in a booth inside the small eatery.

Both died of multiple gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, Barry said. Contreras had also been shot in the head.

Police are still looking for the gunman, who must have run out of the restaurant after apparently seeking out his targets. A motive for the shooting is unknown, Barry said.

There were no customers inside by the time police arrived, and employees told investigators that they were all in the kitchen during the shooting.

Witnesses who were standing outside the restaurant when they heard gunshots gave conflicting statements, investigators said.

Some said a lone man had entered the small restaurant and fired about five shots at the two men. Others said both victims had been sitting with the killer at the booth.
