Airlines Settle Suit: The nation’s two largest airlines, American and United, settled a lawsuit over the acquisition of small Air Wisconsin by United’s parent. The fight over Air Wisconsin was really over increased access to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, the nation’s busiest, where both carriers have hubs but United offers more flights. American disputed the sale on antitrust grounds, saying that if United picked up all 50 Air Wisconsin slots at O’Hare, it would gain unfair advantage. Under the settlement, United agreed to sell American 12 of the slots.
