CAMARILLO : School Trustees Vote to Raise Builder Fees

Share

The Pleasant Valley School District trustees have voted to raise developer fees, used to build new schools, to the new state limit.

The fees will be increased from $1.57 to $1.65 per square foot for residential buildings and from 26 cents to 27 cents per square foot for commercial buildings with habitable space.

The fees can be used to purchase property for new schools or construct new buildings, which officials in the overcrowded district say are badly needed.

Since Pleasant Valley started levying the fees in the early 1980s, the district has collected nearly $1 million, including more than $300,000 last year, a district official said.
