Fires Devour Forests Near Minnesota Lake

TOWER, Minn. —
Fires consumed more than 7,000 acres of forest, destroyed at least six homes and forced the evacuation of resorts on the shore of Lake Vermillion. The flames still had not been controlled early Monday, but heavy rain eased the danger.
