Glider Crash-Lands at Reserve Center
A two-passenger glider crash-landed at the Armed Forces Reserve Center on Tuesday afternoon, slightly injuring one person, authorities said.
The Schweitzer glider was making a landing about 5 p.m. when, for undetermined reasons, it veered from over a runway and collided with a parked fuel truck at the base, said Jerry Johnston, an FAA regional operations officer in Lawndale. The FAA will investigate because of the injury, Johnston said.
One of two unidentified occupants suffered a back injury and was taken to a nearby hospital.
